Chrysanthemum CmHSP90.5 as a Tool to Regulate Heat and Salt Stress Tolerance

نویسندگان

چکیده

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) play important roles in various stress conditions. In this study, CmHSP90.5, whose expression is induced by heat and salt, was cloned from a chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) ‘Jinba’ expressed Arabidopsis. We found that CmHSP90.5 localized the chloroplast. The heterologous of weakened tolerance Arabidopsis reduced activity antioxidant enzymes, including superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), indicating CmHSP90.5-mediated sensitivity may be partially due to regulation active oxygen cleavage. levels AtHSP101, AtHSP15.7, AtHSP17.6C CmHSP90.5-overexpressing plants decreased compared with those wild-type (WT) under stress, these HSPs coregulate plant’s tolerance. addition, salt WT plants; showed increased Na+ K+ proline plants. Interestingly, stress-related genes, such as Na+/H+ antiporter encoding gene SOS1, high-affinity transporter HKT1;1, synthesis AtP5CS1, expressions Our findings lay foundation for understanding response abiotic stresses chrysanthemum.

A Chrysanthemum Heat Shock Protein Confers Tolerance to Abiotic Stress

Heat shock proteins are associated with protection against various abiotic stresses. Here, the isolation of a chrysanthemum cDNA belonging to the HSP70 family is reported. The cDNA, designated CgHSP70, encodes a 647-residue polypeptide, of estimated molecular mass 70.90 kDa and pI 5.12. A sub-cellular localization assay indicated that the cDNA product is deposited in the cytoplasm and nucleus. ...

Evaluation of tomato genotypes and identification of a reliable trait for tolerance to salt stress

structure. So, it is possible to achieve the salinity-tolerant genotype in plants through creating changes in the genetic structure and breeding activities. Tomato is in the group of plants sensitive to salinity stress. Distinct studies have been explained different indicators for tolerance to salt stress in tomato. Identifying a reliable indicator in the early stages of plant growth under salt...

Overexpression of DgWRKY4 Enhances Salt Tolerance in Chrysanthemum Seedlings

High salinity seriously affects the production of chrysanthemum, so improving the salt tolerance of chrysanthemum becomes the focus and purpose of our research. The WRKY transcription factor (TF) family is highly associated with a number of processes of abiotic stress responses. We isolated DgWRKY4 from Dendranthema grandiflorum, and a protein encoded by this new gene contains two highly conser...

Salinity Stress and Salt Tolerance

Salinity is one of the most serious factors limiting the productivity of agricultural crops, with adverse effects on germination, plant vigour and crop yield (R Munns & Tester, 2008). Salinization affects many irrigated areas mainly due to the use of brackish water. Worldwide, more than 45 million hectares of irrigated land have been damaged by salt, and 1.5 million hectares are taken out of pr...

Induction of heat, freezing and salt tolerance by heat and salt shock in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Stress tolerance of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was examined after exposure to heat and salt shock in the presence or absence of the protein synthesis inhibitor cycloheximide. Cells heat-shocked (37 degrees C for 45 min) in the absence of cycloheximide demonstrated increased tolerance of heat, freezing and salt stress. For cells heat-shocked in the presence of cycloheximide, heat and salt toleranc...
